FESTIVAL BACKGROUND

Since launching Are You Listening? in 2013, the one-day Festival has raised almost £70,000 for Reading Mencap, a local charity that supports people with Learning Disabilities and their families.

The critically acclaimed Festival has won ‘Festival of the Year’ and 'Partnership in the Arts' at the Reading Cultural Awards, ‘Event of the Year’ at the inaugural Alt Reading Awards and has received two nominations for ‘Pride of Reading' Awards.

Past AYL? Acts include...

IDLES, Ezra Furman, Field Music, The Big Moon, The Amazons, Steve Lamacq (6 Music), Anna Meredith, Sundara Karma, Spring King, Girl Ray, Shame, Bad Sounds, Genghar, The Wave Pictures, Plump DJs, Pulled Apart By Horses, Boxed In, NZCA Lines, Huw Stephens (Radio 1), Black Honey, Flamingods, Phil Taggart (Radio 1), DJ Format, Dream Wife, Matt Maltese, John Kennedy (Radio X), Smoke Fairies, Tom Williams, Dan Le Sac, Palace, Saltwater Sun and many, many more.

As well as raising awareness and funds for Reading Mencap, Are You Listening? Festival strives to nurture and support the local music scene, by booking around 70% of our acts from Reading and the surrounding area.
Just by buying your tickets you are already supporting our official charity partner, Reading Mencap, and making a difference in the lives of local people with learning disabilities and their families, thank you!
